Twin boys.
Each born 4 months premature.
Each about the size of a Beanie Baby.
Each 18 ounces, less than some soda bottles.
More than 14 years later ...
Both are completely healthy.
A miracle.
No, 2 miracles.

Jake & Josh Aron
were born May 11, 2002,
at Medical City Hospital.
Josh had a heart operation
on his fourth day.
Two days later,
Jake had a bowel operation that doctors didn't expect him to survive.
Despite all that could've gone wrong,
BOTH beat every aspect
of their extreme prematurity.
More details
can be found here.
You also can follow the unfolding story through these original e-mails.
Or, you can read the story written by their proud dad that ran on the AP wire
for Father's Day, 2008.
The story was honored as one of the year's best AP feature stories.

When our boys were on the road to recovery, we knew we owed a debt of gratitude ... but, to who?
In 2005, we learned
it was the March of Dimes.
The organization
that wiped out polio is now working to give all babies a healthy start.
We've worked to raise awareness, as well as raising money. We've had a lot of fun, too, from passing out our business cards,
to spending a year as Dallas' Ambassador Family, and especially through the annual walk.

Since 2005, our
has raised more than $50,000,
annually ranking
among the
top Family Teams
in D/FW.
Among the highlights:
2012: $3,134
2010: $3,642

Another video version of our story used to promote a March of Dimes event.

This was Jake singing to 25,000 folks before the 2009 March for Babies event.

APME (Associated Press Managing Editors) chose the 2-part, first-person story about our family as

one of the five best feature stories on the AP wire in 2008.
